Job Description

Birch Management Consultants Pvt. Ltd, based in Kathmandu, is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team on a full-time contractual basis. This entry-level or internship role involves maintaining accurate client accounting records, analyzing financial data, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with tax and VAT regulations, and utilizing accounting software. The position requires assisting with payroll accuracy, financial modeling, and business advisory tasks while developing technical knowledge and maintaining proactive learning. The ideal candidate will contribute effectively to the team and establish strong client relationships, supporting the firm’s diverse range of financial and business services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining clients accounting records in accordance with applicable laws/standards;
  • Reviewing and analysing a client’s financial information, purchase and sales invoices;
  • Assist in preparing financial reports for clients to review business performance and cash flow position
  • Reviewing client payroll records for accuracy;
  • Developing an effective working relationship with client staff;
  • Utilising accounting software;
  • Developing and applying technical knowledge gained from studies and on the job experience;
  • Keeping direct supervisor up to date with progress/issues;
  • Be proactive about own learning and development;
  • Seeking feedback on personal performance and areas for improvement;
  • Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
  • Complying with government rules of Tax and VAT and keep the accounting system up to date;
  • Financial and Business Advisory tasks including but not limited to: Preparing reports, Research and write up on business topics, analysis, financial modelling and other related tasks.
  • Carrying out other tasks as instructed by the concerned supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Part qualified ACCA.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting standards and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations, VAT, and payroll systems.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis.
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work proactively, manage time efficiently, and prioritize tasks.
