Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Chief Finance Officer (CFO) with a strong background in Hydro/Construction Finance to join our dynamic team of River Group. As the CFO, you will play a crucial role in leading our financial operations, effective liaison, strategic planning, and ensuring financial stability and growth in the hydro sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals, focusing on sustainable growth and profitability in the hydro finance sector.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support decision-making and optimize financial performance.
- Risk Management: Identify financial risks and implement effective risk management strategies to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Investment Management: Manage investments, capital allocation, and funding strategies to support business expansion and investment opportunities in hydro sector.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare & present timely and accurate financial reports including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to BOD, MD, Management and other specified stakeholders, ensuring transparency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimize cash management and support operational needs.
- Tax Planning and Compliance: Develop tax strategies, manage tax compliance, and liaise with tax authorities to minimize tax liabilities and ensure legal compliance.
- Financial Control: Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard financial assets and ensure accuracy and integrity in financial operations.
- Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, investors, and financial institutions, representing the company’s financial interests and fostering trust and confidence.
- Leadership: Provide exceptional leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the finance & operational team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement for the success of business.
Qualification and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Master’s degree or CPA/ACCA qualification is preferred.
- Extensive experience (5 to 8 year) in hydropower or construction finance management sector as CFO or 10 to 15 year experience in other related financial sector in higher management role.
- Proven track record of strategic financial leadership, financial planning, and analysis in a complex and dynamic business environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and best practices in the hydro finance industry.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional professional communication (English & Nepali both written and verbal), insightful leadership, and interpersonal abilities are keys to this position.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, challenging environment and drive results.
- Excellent computing (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), presentation skill and knowledge of relevant financial software tools are mandatory.
Note: Hydropower/Construction Finance background is preferred, but candidates with a strong finance background and relevant experience in other related sectors will also be considered.
